Ulverstone Judo Club Inc (UJC Inc) is the member club responsible for the development of the International Judo Centre; the club has a long and proud history dating back to the 1950's. The UJC Inc. is a member of the Judo Federation of Tas. Inc. which is a member of the International Judo Federation. This affiliation allows all members the opportunity to represent at state, national and international level. This includes Olympic Games, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, Oceania, Australian and NSW Championships. Grades achieved by members are recognized throughout Australia and the world, including the Kodokan Judo Institute in Tokyo, Japan.
Why do Judo? Judo is not only a fantastic and dynamic sport. Judo is not only a highly effective method of self defence. It is also one of the best ways to get fit. Our members are diverse and range from the recreational Judoka to state and national level competitors. Our coaching staff range from former national champions, World, National and Oceania representatives, as well as current state and national level competitors.
